Llansteffan is just 8 miles from Carmarthen, gateway to
West Wales. There are daily buses to Llansteffan including those of
Rhodri
Evans of Ffoshelig. The route is helpfully painted on
the side of the bus - such lyrical names:
Carmarthen, Johnstown, Llangain, Llanstephan, Llanybri... You can also get a local taxi for just a few pounds.
Travelling by
road, just follow the M4 to Carmarthen and follow the signs. The turning for
Llansteffan is just off the A40 as it crosses the Towy and heads west towards
Pembrokeshire.
Carmarthen is well served by trains, en route every hour
to the ferry port of Fishguard where you can sail to Ireland. Travel from major
routes in the South of Britain through Cardiff, but if you're travelling from
the North, come down through Shrewsbury by the Mid Wales line for an
unforgettable journey through the most spectacular and magical scenery in
Britain.
